Departing
from Westminster Pier
close to the Houses of Parliament ans the London Eye Wheel, cruising
down through the panoramic backdrop of historical and modern sights
which line the river banks in the heart of London.
You
will see St Paul's Cathedral and The Tower of London then
passing under Tower Bridge
the vessel will stop at St Katharine's by the Tower of London.
Here you may disembark for sightseeing to the Tower of London,
Tower Bridge and St Katharine's Dock.
St Katharine's Dock was the home base of the famous tea clippers
which raced back from India and Ceylon in order to get the best
prices on the LOndon tea markets. Whilst still retaining its original
warehouses and dock system St Katharine's is now a yacht marina.
On
leaving St Katharine's
the cruise takes you through the commercial heart of the river
with it's converted warehouses and huge dock systems. You will
see Greenwich Palace and the Observatory, the tea clipper "Cutty
Sark" and the Millennium Dome.
After
crossing the GReenwich Meridian
you will pass through the Thames Flood Barrier, the largest moveable
flood barrier in the world, built to stop London flooding.
You may disembark for a visit to the Thames BarrierVisitors Centre
with a video show and working models explaining why it was necessary
to build the barrier, how it was built and how it works.
Alternatively,
you may stay on board and come straight back to Westminster.
