According to information published in early 2008 by the French magazine L'Express and collected from notaries, the average price per square foot in the old Nice was around 3500 Euros, an increase of more than 8% between the end of 2006 and the end of 2007.
Regarding property in Antibes, Mandelieu la Napoule, Menton or Cannes, the price per square foot, again for an apartment ranged from 4000 to more than 5000 Euros. All these prices show a significant increase compared to the previous year. The mortgage crisis has apparently not (yet?) hit the real estate market on the French Riviera, which remains attractive to many buyers from all over the world.
Only the hinterland, as the region of St Etienne de Tinée, seems to suffer a slight decline in price.
Many offers are published on Internet sites specializing in transactions between individuals. Many real estate agencies also have a website with their own bids. Maybe even more than in other regions, it is wise to stay on the spot to explore and look for the property of your dreams. So why not rent a furnished apartment as a vacation rental to begin?
